diary of a stupid lazy procrastinating dumbbutt
3:16 am: Steadily losing more and more concentration. Cannot for the life of me churn out anything else about the Renaissance humanism of Richard Morrison. Must. THINK.
3:25 am: Jennifer is sleeping soundly while I listen to the entire Scheherazade Suite again. Have made minimal progress in 9 minutes elapsed.
4:10 am: Progress hampered by extreme lack of interest and deep regret for not utilizing my 3 day weekend better. Goal is to finish by 5 am.

I don't know how to feel about this
this is my grandfather's blog (which I've been utilizing irresponsible, rough-shod translation to try to read): http://photo.blog.sina.com.cn/luolaoyezi
An uncle also has a blog. Only mention of me was to point out that I'm a much less annoying child at age 16 than I was at age 6.
Went to Buddhist temple today and received the following fortune: "the existence of everything in the universe is interdependent." I should have gotten one in Chinese and had my father and grandparents analyze it for me because I get the distinct feeling that the English alternatives are just random fortune cookie bullshit that the temple uses to amuse Americans. It's odd to simultaneously flaunt the cultural richness of my Chinese heritage while actually being an ignorant outsider to it, dumb Amurikan that I am. Chinese Americans exist in that weird, membranous in-between zone where neither culture is completely accessible.

portents gather
what evil times we live in, that the wicked should prosper while the virtuous fall sick.
